The V-Tones have a long and tangled history with the HEART program (in a good way!). HEART is a theatre group made up of, and for, adults with special needs. They've put on musicals, performed at Spoleto, and go on all sorts of adventures. So, we're happy to be celebrating with them on Saturday. It's a potluck, so pack your picnic baskets! 54 Bicycles covers the music of Widespread Panic, and the V-Tones,well, mostly we play Vaudeville and Swing music. Who knows what sort of hi-jinks shall ensue!

Sunday April 23rd, teaching and performing at the Little David Ukulele And Dulcimer Festival 
being held at the Stony House at the Old Santee Canal Park in Moncks Corner. The Festival Starts at 10:30 and ends at 4. The festival is free for park admission. ($3, $2 for folks 65 and older, kids 6 and under free). 
  We will have a lesson at 10:30, 3 band concert, open mic, group strums, plus uke, food and craft vendors. Come and meet new players and jam!
  It's all for the benefit of the Music Speaks Autism Awareness Project.
Bring your entire family to enjoy the miles of walking trails, interpretive center, and museum, and then kayak/canoe the old canal. Plenty for non-players to enjoy.

I week form today, that's Sunday Feb. 19th, please come to a workshop by Rachel Manke, who has taught at Ashokan and other ukulele camps and has even appeared on 'A Prairie Home Companion'!!!! She's be teaching 2 workshops: at 3pm one for beginners, and at 4pm a workshop on Strumming (just what you need!) Each workshop is $25. This is all a'happening at the Hungry Monk School of Music (1948 Belgrade, West Ashley, here in Charleston, SC) LET ME KNOW IF YOU'LL BE THERE!!!

Thanks to the good people at the Roaring 20s Hot Jazz Dance Club, the V-Tones are back at Prohibition! I know, I this Vale of Tears one might ask oneself why? Why  dance? Why celebrate? It's important to get out there and be connected to the world---life is more than just Tweets and Screen time. Get out and shake it up! You'll be glad you did. PS Usually there are plenty of talented dancers just waiting to lead you on the dance floor (or try to follow you!). The crowd is not snooty or judgmental at all. Come on out!
