Lucky 13 Swing Dance with the V-Tones
"Why is Friday the 13th considered bad luck, anyway?", asked the precocious eleven year old. "Ah well", mumbled Professor Humbug," It goes back to the Egyptians...." Whatever the case may be my friends, grab your rabbit's foot, four leaf clover, or talisman and hop to the Swing Dance on April 13th at Spirit Moves. The V-Tones will be conjuring up our spirited Gypsy Jazz set for your dancing pleasure. Special guest stars, surprises, new songs....All this and more (plus lessons (Int.7:15, Beg. 8pm) for just $10! Live music starts up around 8:45. I predict that you will have fun!!!
Noodle opens for Tik Tok at Tin Roof!
OK all y'all Southern-fried Steampunks, grab your goggles and dancing shoes for a night of genre twisting, string bending fun at the Tin Roof on Saturday, March 31st. Tik-Tok are impossible to describe--the last time we played with them they had a robot that delivered decrees in between their banjo/washboard/songs. It's jugband music from Dystopia? In any case it's fun, funny and great! Catch these globe trotting freaks (from Berlin, etc) while they swing through Charleston. Plus, noodlin' Noodle will try to rise to the occasion!

She Goes, He Goes
Good news, people! I'm playing tenor banjo with a new Swing band, "She Goes, He Goes". We'll be playing the dance on Friday, March 16th, at Spirit Moves. Admission is $10, and that includes dance lessons at 7:15pm (intermediate) and 8pm (beginning), with live music starting about 8:45pm. The theme is St. Patrick's Warm Up, so wear your green, lovely people. All ages and stages are welcome: dancing is fun, and the scene is low-pressure. Wish me luck with the new instrument! My first love is still the ukulele!!!
V-Tones at Kidsfair!
Sunday, March 11th, 1:30pm, Gaillard Auditorium! Be there! For just $1, you, yes you, can experience Charleston's biggest Kids' Fair! We had a blast last year at this event and expect fun, mirth and hilarity this year as well. We'll play for about 45 minutes, followed by our pals at Homespun Hoops. Wow!
