Roger Bellow and the Drifting Troubadors

Roger Bellow is my musical mentor. wow! What a talent--he can play a dozen instruments and a dozen different styles. On Wednesday, April 1st, (NO FOOLIN'!!!) I'll be joining Roger for some Western Swing at Prohibition. Prohibition is downtown Charleston, on King Street.  Stephen Duane provides a free dance lesson around 7pm, then we have live music from 8-11pm. Did I mention it's free? Come on out and kick up your heels. Roger always puts on a great show.

Springtime Fun!

I like to change my songlist to match the seasons, so that means we're into the Springtime songlist! Hooray! Here are a few shows that will give me a chance to play the wonderful vintage music I so love:

Sources close to the band say that Eden Fonvielle will be on stage with us and we'll have the fantastic bass player, Mr. Fuller Condon with us as well. This is fun, supportive dance community. Plus, Prohibition has drinks and dinner! Sounds like a date!

The V-Tones of Charleston

Bee Expo

We NEED the BEES! Don't say that it's none of your Bees-ness! OK OK, I'll stop. We'll be  a'playing lots of Bee themed music for this fascinating and informative expo. What a perfect way to start the Spring, don't you think? Dress code: yellow and black!

Swamp Celebrity Show

This Sunday, from 12:45-4pm, there will be another round of Be A Celebrity in the Swamp! That's up at the Cypress Gardens (Moncks Corner), and the Lovely Mz. Fonivellle and I will be the judges! There are categories for adults and children and prizes. Admission to the contest is included with your admission to the gardens.
Now, If you've never been to Cypress Gardens, the Spring is a lovely time to go. Besides all the shrubbery, there are boat rides through the blackwater swamp, a reptiliarium, and my favorite, the butterfy house. It's a real gem in the Lowcountry.
