Prohibition Dance Night!!!

Yes! The V-Tones of Charleston has many exciting incarnations, and Wednesday night will be a good one--we've got me on ukulele, Jeff Arnold on guitar, Fuller Condon on the upright bass, and Roger on banjo and violin. We'll be playing music for your dancing pleasure at Prohibition from 8-11. That's this Wednesday, October 2nd. Stephen Duane will give a free, basic Swing Dance lesson at 7pm. Prohibition is on King Street---check it out!

Then, on Thursday, October 3rd, we are delighted to be back in North Charleston for the Farmer's Market at Park Circle. That's from 4-6pm. We'll have Jeff Arnold, Noodle, Jeff Narkiewicz on the bass, and the exciting Mrs. Eden Fonvielle on tap dancing, drums and baritone ukulele. Also free, also good!

Taste of Charleston

The Taste of Charleston food festival will be here before you know it! That's Saturday, September 28th, and a small batch of the V-Tones, plus a gaggle of Lowcounty Strummers will be there, performing at the Kids' Stage. We'll be there from 12-4pm, at the Boone Hall Plantation, performing songs about food and cooking and eating! Come on by and join the merry throng!!!

Art Party Parade

OK--so Friday, September 20th--downtown Charleston hosts the artwork of Kevin Harrison and John Duckworth at the Michael Mitchell Gallery. We should arrive in all of our glory at 6pm. Let your freak flag fly!

Prohibition, here we come!

V is for Volstead Act! Calling all Jazz Rascals! Catch the V-Tones at Prohibition on Wednesday, September 18th! We'll play from 8-11pm, with a free dance lesson (from Stephen Duane) at 7pm. Prohibition is a new bar on upper King Street, and we wish them all the success in the world! I've assembled a power-house band for this show: Roger Bellow on the tenor banjo, Fuller Condon on upright bass, Jeff Arnold on guitar, and yours truly on the ukulele, PLUS, Eden may appear early in the evening.  It's Fun, it's Free, what else do you need?

AND a BIG THANK YOU to all the volunteers and organizers of the BLACKWATER UKULELE FESTIVAL, which was a RAGING SUCCESS!!!

Blackwater Ukulele Festival

From out of the swamp, it returns! The Blackwater Ukulele Festival! I'll there, naturally on Saturday, September 14th, at Cypress Gardens. If you haven't been to the gardens, they are a vintage Lowcountry treasure.  I'' present a workshop at 10:30am, then the V-Tones will play at 12:30pm. There'll also be our buddies, the Charleston Hotshots, a Hula class/demo, and boatride jams, hobnobbing, and a very popular open mic! The festival has been organized by Jim Ravoira--thanks Jim! Admission to the festival is included with your admission to the gardens. Musicians, teachers and organizers are all volunteering our time. This is a great opportunity to meet some fellow ukesters! I hope to see you all there! ALOHA!!!!

Sparrow No Expense!!!

It's V for Vintage at the Sparrow on Saturday, September 7th. Fall is the time to shed your snake-skins and shake it out on the dance floor. Let's do it together! Come to the Sparrow, up in North Charleston and check out a reinvigorated V-Tones. It's free, and we'll be starting about 10pm. We'd love to see everybody there. It might be a little late for Eden, though....
SO, if you've got to see Eden, come on down to 'Hello My Name is BBQ', for their brunch on Saturday, and hear Eden and me play munchie music from noon-2pm. Also free, also good.
