Sol Driven Train at the Pourhouse for New Year's Eve!

Hey Friends! Once again I have been drafted to be the MC for New Year's Eve at the Pourhouse. What an honor! Sol Driven Train is the band, and wow--do they put on a good show. It's going to be a wonderful and bizarre affair, I'm sure, and SDT always puts on a great show. They mix up genres and write lot of originals---funky, funny, twangy, rocking---they do it all, and they are a great bunch of guys. Let's kick off the HappyNoodleYear with a big communal boogie-down. We'll be glad we did!

The Charleston-based organization, People Against Rape, in partnership with MUSC’s National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center and the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program, is sponsoring the 2013 Take Back the Night event, themed “Shatter the Silence. The event will include a variety of arts-related projects, including recognizing a poetry competition winner and other events encouraging creative expression about the vital need to stop violent sexual crimes.

Along with the serious message about making our communities safe, there will be activities celebrating the strength of survivors of sexual assault and a message of hope and joy about the resiliency of the human spirit. What's your mission? Let's make Charleston fun. You can help---support love music. Oh yes, and it's FREE!

V-Tones at Poetry House
